This is Zack.
Zack snagged this large carp the day I was strolling on the Chicago Riverwalk. Zack visits the Riverwalk sometimes to fish.
Opportunities like this one let me sharpen my photo and people skills. Sometimes, approaching strangers on the street is a bit uncomfortable for me. Certain situations will make the approach a bit easier. A casual smile, a head nod, and a polite ask can be icebreakers.
Zack made my approach easy and more relaxed. He was engaged in conversation with another person who was talking about his catch. I snapped a few photos of that interaction. I asked Zack for his permission to take his photo with the fish. As you can see the smile on his face, I received his approval.
Kayaking on the Chicago River
I put this clip together from a series of photos taken of these two kayakers. One of the individuals, Lucian, noticed me taking photos of him and his friend Henry. Lucian later provided his name via text message.
The photos are real. The script embellishes actual events. They were not in danger. They were very close to the tour boat.
